Shopping mall's veteran sniffer dog lost in Lujiazui
IF you happen to see a Labrador dog running loose near Lujiazui, the financial district, in the Pudong New Area, please contact police or property managers of Shanghai International Finance Center - it may be a sniffer dog missing from the business tower.
The upscale shopping and office building has reported one of its veteran sniffer dogs missing. It helped safeguard the public by detecting explosives and other dangerous substances around the busy commercial complex connected to Lujiazui Metro Station.
Officials at the building's property management office suspect the dog may have headed to nearby residential complexes. They ask people to attend to it first and contact manager Ms Du Lijun at 2020-7080 or 139-1787-7803.
In addition, the neighborhood police station could be reached at 5878-3713.
The healthy, seven-year-old male dog responds to its name, Duo Duo, pronounced in Mandarin.
"Duo Duo looks pretty much like an average Labrador and is very friendly. He was not wearing any sniffer dog equipment to help distinguish it from other dogs when lost. But he wore a dog collar around his neck," Du, who is a manager with the building's property management office, said yesterday.
She said a worker accidentally lost the dog when walking it outside the IFC building on Saturday. "The colleague unleashed the pair of dogs to allow them a free walk on a lawn," she said. "The two dogs were off duty on the weekend."
But the dogs dashed in different directions suddenly and the worker was able to catch only one and lost track of Duo Duo, building officials said.
