A 44-year-old woman was detained for 10 days and fined 500 yuan (US$80) for slapping a doctor in the face, xinmin.cn reported yesterday.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning when the suspect, surnamed Sheng, attacked the medic, surnamed Xu, at the Xin Hua Hospital (Chongming). She was apparently dissatisfied with the doctor’s assessment of her mother’s health.
