Speed up plea
Shanghai should speed up unveiling detailed policies regarding the city’s free trade zone, offer more privileges and improve the zone’s English website, in order to attract foreign funds, a Hong Kong political adviser urged yesterday.
Tu Haiming said the Shanghai pilot zone faces fierce competition both home and abroad.
Guangdong and Henan provinces and Tianjin have all applied to central government to establish similar free trade zones or programs. And developing countries in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) are also offering privileged policies to attract foreign investment, Tu said.
