Spotlight on technology that aids elderly
TECHNOLOGIES that benefit the aged are taking center stage at a senior care, rehabilitation and health exhibition which opened yesterday in Shanghai, local civil affairs authorities say.
Robots that help restore upper body function, AI devices offering mental support and daily care advice, and virtual reality simulations of dementia symptoms are some of the innovations featured at the three-day China International Exhibition of Senior Care, Rehabilitation Medicine and Healthcare, also known as China Aid, one of the largest and oldest events of its kind in China.
The exhibition, hosted by the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, will also display the latest senior-care products and services, as well as advances in rehabilitation and medical treatment, rehabilitation devices, senior nursing, livable architecture and health management.
Exhibitors from home and abroad will attend the event, which is being held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in the Pudong New Area.
