Steel pipe cargo kills driver

THE driver of a flat-bed truck was killed just before 1pm yesterday in Baoshan District, when the vehicle’s load of steel pipes smashed into the cab after he suddenly braked. The pipes were afterward hoisted by a crane so that the driver could be removed from his cab by firefighters. However, he was pronounced dead by medics.
