Stepping on toes led to killing
AN elderly dancer is said to have stabbed a man to death after another dancer stepped on his toes at a outdoor dancing event in Minhang District.
A man in his 70s, surnamed Yan, was held by police after a 58-year-old, surnamed Zhao, was stabbed during a dispute on Tuesday evening, Minhang police said yesterday.
Police said a friend of Zhao’s had earlier stepped on Yan’s feet at the event.
It is claimed that Yan later got into an argument with Zhao and produced a knife from a fan to stab him. He is also said to have stabbed another man, surnamed Song.
Yan is said to have attempted to flee but was quickly caught by police.
Zhao lost a lot of blood from a wound to his underarm and was pronounced dead in hospital.
Dancing in public places is a popular fitness and social activity in China.
