Store aiming to make its toilets cleaner
A BRANCH of Walmart in Xuhui District yesterday promised to clean its toilets more frequently after a Shanghai Daily reader complained about facilities.
The manager of the American supermarket chain’s Tianlin branch said the toilets have since been given a thorough clean and the regular cleaning schedule increased.
An American living in the city told Shanghai Daily that hygiene in the mart’s first floor bathroom has been a bugbear for the past two years.
“The current urinals are simply not deep enough,” the customer said in an e-mail.
But the general manager of Walmart Tianlin said all bathroom facilities fully meet China’s national standards. “A large number of mall customers are using the facilities,” the store manager added.
When it comes to renovating the toilets, the store will ask senior management to consider replacing existing facilities, the manager said.
