Storytelling contest
The Shanghai Municipal Archives is inviting local residents, including expatriates, to take part in a storytelling contest on important historic issues of the city. Participants are invited to tell stories in mandarin or Shanghai dialect at various venues which are free for the public. The first storytelling event was held at the People’s Art Stage in Xuhui District. The performers, mostly local residents, told stories of the building of the Qingcaosha Reservoir that improved the tap water quality after it became operational in 2010.
