Student dies after goal post falls on him

Police are investigating the death of a college student who died on Saturday after a portion of the goal post fell on him.
The 24-year-old student of Shanghai University of Electric Power was reportedly doing pull-ups when the bar fell on him.
The student, surnamed Zhang, was declared dead when he was rushed to the Yangpu District Central Hospital. Doctors said his head was badly injured and his heart had stopped beating.
The university said Zhang was an adult education student and was doing pull-ups on the field about 9pm when the bar suddenly dislodged and hit his head, resulting in his death.
He was announced dead at 9:16pm.
His parents, who live in central China’s Hubei Province, have been informed and flew to the city yesterday.
