NEWS website xinmin.cn yesterday published a video by the city’s subway operator showing a boy getting caught in the mechanism of an escalator at a Metro station.
The film shows the youngster becoming entangled after sitting with a friend on an escalator at Xintiandi station on Line 10. When the child stands up to get off, he is seen getting caught in the mechanism. A passer-by presses the emergency button and firefighters arrive later to cut the boy free. He was taken to hospital but not seriously hurt.
