Sun set to shine on tomb sweepers
THE sun is set to shine on this year’s Qingming Festival, forecasters said yesterday.
With a high of 18 degrees Celsius and a low of 9 degrees, today will be sunny, while the warm and dry weather should continue through the weekend, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
This year’s tomb-sweeping day falls tomorrow, and for people traveling out of town to pay their respects the forecast for neighboring cities is also good, the bureau said. Despite the bright weather at the weekend, the rains are set to return on Monday and winds will hit the city on Tuesday.
With regard to the longer outlook, there is only a slight chance that this summer will be as hot or as long as it was in 2013, the bureau said.
Last year’s long run of very hot days, was exceptional and a repeat is unlikely, it said.
