Surge in tourist complaints

THERE has been huge surge of complaints about tourism services, catering and accommodation in the first half of this year, the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission said today.

It received 7,307 complaints related with tourism, air ticketing and hotel booking during the six months — up almost 207 percent on the same period last year.

Many concerned high charges for changing air tickets.
