Taxi fare increase in Minhang District

TAXI fares in Minhang District rise today, and the pricing system in taxi meters will be updated over the next few days, the district government said.
The standard rate is 12 yuan (US$1.95) for the first 3 kilometers — including a 1 yuan fuel surcharge — and 2.40 yuan for each kilometer after that, up to 10 kilometers. Beyond that, every kilometer will be charged 3.10 yuan. Between 11pm and 5am, the starting rate will rise to 14 yuan — including the fuel surcharge — while passengers will be charged 2.90 yuan for each kilometer between 3 and 10, and then 3.10 yuan for every kilometer after that, said officials.
