Tourism earnings up

THE city earned 350 billion yuan (US$53 billion) from tourism in 2015, which was up by 2 percent from the previous year, Shanghai government said yesterday. In 2015, Shanghai received 270 million domestic visitors and 8 million from abroad.
About 3.6 million residents traveled abroad via travel agencies, up by half compared to 2014. The city aims to increase the revenue from tourism to 365 billion yuan this year.
