More than 30 performance troupes from home and abroad will also participate in the parade.
The theme of this year’s float parade is the Belt and Road initiative, and provinces across China will display their landscapes by presenting floats in the parade, according to the administration. Tourists are invited to vote for their favorite float. Overseas trips are to be offered as prizes.
The floats will tour into districts across Shanghai from next Monday, with stops including Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall and Hongkou Football Stadium.
From September 29 to October 6, they will be at the Oriental Green Boat Park in Qingpu District.
The Shanghai Tourism Festival, the city’s biggest tourism extravaganza, will run from September 9 to October 6, featuring a variety of activities, including food, light, music, sports and art events.
