JING'AN District People's Court ruled a travel agency must pay 47,000 yuan (US$6,881) to a retired teacher surnamed Gu who suffered a fractured spine when taking a bus arranged by the agency. Gu, 69, attended a one-day trip to Nanhui District organized by the travel agency on April 28, 2008.
Gu's spine was fractured when the bus bounced over a bridge too fast.
