TWO workers suffocated to death while dredging in an inspection shaft in Chongming Island on Wednesday, xinmin.cn reported yesterday. They fainted around 1pm and were rushed to the hospital. They were declared dead at 3pm. A preliminary inspection said the two inhaled harmful gas.
