MA Ainong was yesterday awarded the inaugural Irish Literature Translation Prize at the Shanghai Book Fair. Presented by the Consulate General of Ireland, the annual award is designed to promote the translation of Irish fiction into Chinese and raise the profile of contemporary Irish writers in the country. Ma was recognized for her translation of the Irish novel “Walk the Blue Fields.”
