Truck kills 2 road workers

A CONTAINER truck plowed into roadworks and a road maintenance vehicle on the G15 Highway yesterday afternoon, killing two road workers and injuring eight.
According to the city road maintenance office, workers were carrying out maintenance in the fast lane along the highway’s 1312K section, close to the Songpu No. 2 Bridge. Warning signs and road barriers were in place.
A south-bound truck ran into the construction area just before 2:50pm, crashing into the work vehicle.
Two workers died at the scene and of the eight injured, two were said to be in a critical condition last night, while the others were said to be stable, said hospital officials.
Traffic police are investigating the accident.
