Uproar over gold ads on e-site

1Mall.com, an online shopping site, has come under fire after consumers complained to the city’s consumer rights protection commission that their orders for gold bars at the site were canceled or the site refused to deliver the gold after they had paid the bill.

The price for the gold bars was only 61 yuan (US$9.96) per gram, compared to 273 yuan per gram in the market price. 1Mall.com said an advertisement company was responsible for the display as it was testing an under-design precious metal page from August 23 to 25.
