Vagrant crushed

SHANGHAI Music Bookstore has been ordered to pay 130,000 yuan (US$19,030) compensation to the family of a vagrant who was crushed to death by the bookstore's roll-up door, the Huangpu District People's Court said yesterday.

On the night of August 4, 2007, Li Yun, a vagrant, went to sleep at the door of the bookstore after drinking. A bookstore employee surnamed Zhu shut the electronic roll-up door without checking and the door crushed Li and he died from suffocation.
