YANG Xiong, executive vice mayor of Shanghai, has been appointed a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and deputy Party secretary of Shanghai. Yang is also the executive vice mayor of Shanghai currently.
Born in 1953, Yang once served as president of Shanghai Airline Co Ltd, and chairman of the supervisor's board of Shanghai Airline Co Ltd until February 2001, when he became vice secretary-general of Shanghai Municipality.
