A woman’s petition for divorce was granted by a local court after her husband seriously injured her last August and was sentenced to 9 months in jail in December, the Putuo District People’s Court said. According to the court, the couple, who were married three years ago, got into an argument that culminated with the husband brutally assaulting her, causing fractures and bruising.
