Shanghai will unveil a scheme next month that aims to attract volunteers, officials said yesterday. Those who have good service records will be given free access to gymnasiums, discounted meals and tickets to restaurants and cinemas, free medical service at hospitals, and even preferences in job hunting. Expats can also register with the Shanghai Association of Volunteers on its website www.volunteer.sh.cn and enjoy similar benefits.
