WeChat account hacked
A HACKER yesterday used the official WeChat account of Shanghai’s weather bureau as a platform for four recruitment advertisements.
The ads were posted on the account between 8:56am and 10:04am, an official said.
The bureau said it is working with Tencent, which operates WeChat, to trace the hacker.
A member of team that manages the bureau’s WeChat account said it was unlikely the hacking had come from inside the organization.
“The hacker must have cracked our password to get inside the system,” the man, surnamed Mi, said.
The bureau released few details of the ads, though said the title of one of them read: “Are you still worrying about how to find a job?”
It contained a QQ messaging service number for people interested in applying.
