White lions in Shanghai
A PAIR of white lions has arrived at Shanghai Wild Animal Park from Guangzhou and it's hoped they will breed here.
The three-year-old male called Shan Shan and the female Si Si have already adapted to their new environment, park officials told today Shanghai Evening
Post.
Visitors can watch them through a glass window.
The park introduced a pair of two-year-old white lions eight years ago but the female died from disease soon afterwards.
The new pair were raised bottle fed.
The white lion is a rare color mutation of the African lion, which matures about the age of three and can live for 20 to 25 years.
Female lions will give birth to two to four cubs after a pregnancy of about 110 days.
