A woman who attempted to commit suicide by setting fire to her home after arguing with her husband was arrested for arson, the Songjiang District People’s Procuratorate said yesterday.
Prosecutors said the woman, surnamed Xu, often had arguments with her husband, surnamed Liu, about his ex-wife. They decided to divorce but failed to reach an agreement on property division during negotiations on April 1. The next morning, Xu drank some alcohol and started a fire at their house, said police.
