Winter fun with a message
A mobile wintry theme park will open for business on December 20 at the Italian Center — the former site of the Italian pavilion at the 2010 World Expo — in the Pudong New Area, xinmin.cn reported. The 3,000-square-meter Ice Town will be open for three months and offer visitors the chance to build snowmen, take part in snowball fights, and ride on bumper cars on the ice. The park will be home to a host of cartoon figures of polar animals, while also delivering a message about the perils of global warming. Shanghai is the first city to host the mobile “town,” which will later move on to five other cities in China over the next three years.
