Woman, 39, killed close to her home

A WOMAN was robbed and killed outside an apartment building in Minhang District in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police said yesterday.
According to a report on news website xinmin.cn, the 39-year-old victim was returning home from Zhongshan Hospital where she worked as a nurse about 2am when she was attacked.
Police did not provide any details of the incident, but said they have detained a suspect in connection with the killing.
After studying footage from surveillance cameras at the scene of the crime, a 27-year-old man was apprehended at an Internet cafe on Wednesday night, they said.
The suspect, who was allegedly found in possession of the victim’s wallet, ID and bank cards, is a migrant worker from central China’s Hubei Province, they said.
An investigation is ongoing.
