Woman charged with theft
A DELIVERY man’s wife who allegedly stole goods from parcels that were to be delivered was charged with theft by Chongming County prosecutors.
The wife would repack the parcels after stealing the goods inside. Prosecutors said the wife, surnamed Zhang, stole over 90 goods from 21 orders. The idea occurred to her in July when she got a parcel she had made an order for online.
After removing the goods, she told her husband, surnamed Li, that she had not opened the box and wanted to return them.
Zhang ordered goods with a fake name and address, which would be her husband’s delivery area. Li, not finding the address, would return home with the package to be returned to the companies the next day.
That was when Zhang would steal the goods and repackage it, she told the police.
