Woman has abortion to save her own life

SHANGHAI’S Shuguang Hospital yesterday said it saved the life of a 20-year-old pregnant Jamaican woman with an acute cerebrovascular disease.
The woman went to the hospital earlier this month after experiencing severe vomiting. She lost consciousness soon after being admitted, and doctors said she had a blood clot in her brain, which could be fatal. The woman was told she needed an abortion, which she was given, and then doctors cleared the clot. She is expected to be discharged soon.
