Woman jumps onto subway tracks, delays Line 1 trains

A WOMAN jumped off a subway platform and ran along the tracks of Shanghai's Metro Line 1 this morning, delaying incoming trains for 15 minutes, Xinmin.cn reported.

The 35-year-old woman, believed to have a mental disease, jumped off the platform at Wenshui Road Station at 7:12am and ran to Shanghai Circus World Station along the tracks, Metro authorities said.

Metro workers activated the emergency button on the platform and delayed incoming trains as soon as the incident happened. The woman was caught at 7:30am.
