Woman questioned over deadly attack

A WOMAN has been taken into custody following a fatal attack on a mother and her two sons in Zhoupu Town, Pudong police said yesterday.
The incident happened about 5pm at the Shengxinyuan residential compound, which is located beside the Chuanzhou Highway, police said.
The suspect, surnamed Liu, is alleged to have staged the attack after being sacked from her job. The victims were a woman surnamed Ran, who is believed to be the wife of Liu’s former boss, and the couple’s two sons.
The younger child died in hospital from wounds sustained in the attack, while his mother and brother are still receiving treatment, police said.
They did not provide details of the nature of the assault.
