Women鈥檚 federation eyes social organization for charity projects

SHANGHAI Women's Federation held an annual celebration on Wednesday to honor workers of the city's female social organizations for their services for local women and children.
Over the past three years, the federation has spent more than 58 million yuan in purchasing (US$8.4 million) public services from 699 charity projects organized by local social organizations. The projects covered areas including female support, caring for children and social innovation.
“Purchasing public services from social organizations has not only expanded the coverage of our services, but also made our services more professional to serve support local women, children and families," said Xu Feng, chairwoman of the federation, adding the federation is in connection with more than 1,000 female social organizations in Shanghai.
