Worker held for making threats
A MIGRANT worker who in the past seven months called police more than 20 times with complaints against his employer has been detained for making terror threats.
The 34-year-old man surnamed Wu from the neighboring Anhui Province held a grudge against his employer for not compensating him for an injury at work. Wu broke a toe in July last year while unloading goods from a truck at the logistics company’s warehouse in Putuo District. He was never compensated as he did not have a contract.
He called police from his hospital bed and said he would plant explosive at the warehouse. He made another threat in August saying he was going to kill the company’s director.
Wu has not been charged yet.
A local arbitration agency is working to settle the dispute.
