A local bank has been ordered by a district court to pay 10,000 yuan (US$1,464) in compensation to a citizen surnamed Wang because its clerk input a wrong identification card number, preventing him from getting a loan.

Wang applied for a property loan last May but was refused because he had got a huge loan from the bank. The court ruled the bank should compensate for the trouble its mistake caused to Wang.
