Xu stays on as top boss in Pudong
XU Lin has kept his position as Party Secretary of Pudong New Area following its merger with Nanhui Disrict, the Organization Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China announced yesterday.
The department yesterday announced the new leadership, which takes over from the former co-working committee to oversee the merger of Nanhui District into Pudong, and the former standing committees of the CPC Shanghai Pudong Committee and Nanhui Committee.
"Establishment of the new leadership group marks a new beginning for the new Pudong," said Shen Hongguang, personnel department director of the CPC Shanghai Committee.
Xu, a 46-year-old Shanghai native with a postgraduate degree in business administration, has been the Party chief of Pudong since February 28, 2008.
He was once Party chief of Nanhui when it was still a county before being upgraded to district level in 2001.
