Yangpu Bridge repairs begin
AN 11-month reparation work on Yangpu Bridge has begun and some lanes on the bridge will be shut down during the night, Shanghai Road Administration Bureau said yesterday.
The reparation work aims to repair broken parts, replace old facilities and repaint the road and steel structure so as to keep the bridge “healthy and safe,” the bureau said.
Work on three pairs of ramps, two on Puxi side and one on Pudong side, is being carried out and will last till the end of this month.
One lane on both the on-ramp and off-ramp south of Zhoujiazui Road is shut down, with the other lane remaining open. However, the ramps at Hejian Road and Linqing Road as well as Pudong Avenue are completely closed.
Starting next month, work will shift to the main bridge.
The work on the bridge is scheduled to finish by the end of June.
