Yuexing Group wins copyright lawsuit

YUEXING Group today won a lawsuit in a copyright infringement case in which two plaintiffs accused the furnishing mall operator of plagiarizing their ad slogans created for prize money last year.

The Putuo District People's Court said Chen Yuji and Sheng Huanhua also sued Sally Wu, the brand ambassador of Yuexing Group, in the same lawsuit.

The two plaintiffs said they emailed three slogans to Yuexing to participate in its ad competition with total prize money of 4.28 million yuan on November 15 last year but they were not on the winner list.

Yuexing began to use the phrase "Yuexing, the home in my heart" in its advertising campaign after February 1. Chen and Sheng said the wording of this slogan is similar to theirs in both meaning and sentence structure.

The agent of Sally Wu, a well-known journalist and program hostess with Phoenix TV in Hong Kong, also made a statement that Wu had nothing to do with the ad competition.
