Han Zheng meets Deutsche Bank CEO
韩正会见德意志银行集团联席首席执行官 支持中外企业在沪实现更大发展

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Juergen Fitschen, co-CEO of Deutsche Bank, last week.

Han said this year is the opening year of the city's 13th Five-Year Plan. Shanghai will deepen reforms, increase opening, accelerate economic restructuring, and change the growth model. The city is confident of maintaining a sustainable and stable economic growth.

He said Shanghai is following the central government's strategy to build itself into an international financial center. More efforts will be made in financial reform and opening in Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

Han noted that Deutsche Bank has developed well in Shanghai and other parts of China and he assured Fitschen that Shanghai will continue to improve business environment for both Chinese and foreign companies in the city.

Fitschen said the world economy is facing new challenges. China's determination to carry on reforms is encouraging. The Chinese development experiences are worth learning for all countries.

He said Deutsche Bank makes the Asian market, particularly the Chinese market, a top priority and will continue to play an active part in Shanghai's efforts to become an international financial center. The bank will also take Shanghai Free Trade Zone as an opportunity to contribute to Shanghai and China's economic growth.

Deutsche Bank is the biggest bank in Germany and one of the world's leading financial institutions. It opened its first overseas office in Shanghai in 1872. It now has branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Tianjin.
