Han Zheng meets Mars Inc. boss from USA
支持中外企业在沪发展 韩正会见美国玛氏公司董事长

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Victoria Mars, chairman of Mars Inc., a famous confectionary company in the US, on March 30.
Han said the Chinese people are demanding safer and better food nowadays than just something to satisfy hunger. Reform and opening-up in the past 30 years has raised the living standards in China.
He said food safety is crucial to food producers. The Shanghai government will create better business environment for international companies like Mars Inc. so that they develop well in the city.
Mars said China is the second largest market for Mars. Her company will invest more in production and R&D activities in China while strictly abiding by the Chinese laws and regulations on food safety and product quality.
She said she hoped Mars can contribute to the city’s drive for food safety and to the healthy growth of the local food industry.
