Han Zheng meets Shanghai mayor’s foreign advisors
韩正会见国际企业家咨询会议成员 加快推进上海自贸区建设

Shanghai Party Secretary Han Zheng met Orit Gadiesh, chairwoman of Bain & Company and the outgoing chairwoman of the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai, and other council members last Friday.

Junichi Ujiie, senior advisor of Nomura Holding, Inc and vice chairman of the council, and Vishal Sikka, CEO and managing director of Infosys Ltd, joined the meeting.

Han said the theme of this year’s council meeting was around the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. He thanked council members for making good preparations for the meeting.

He said China will become more open through continuing reforms. There is no turning-back from reform and opening. The government must make sure that it makes as few policy mistakes as possible. The Shanghai FTZ is a testing ground for the nation’s reform measures.

The council members said international business leaders are paying close attention to the development of Shanghai Free Trade Zone. They and their companies have trade ties with China so they have a lot to discuss at the council meeting.

They said their long-term targets match that of the Shanghai government and they hoped the council discussions could help promote the development in the FTZ.
