Han Zheng meets ThyssenKrupp chairman
闊╂浼氳娴烽噷甯屸㈣但杈涙牴涓琛岋細涓婃捣楂樺害閲嶈鍏堣繘鍒堕犱笟鍙戝睍
SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met with Heinrich Hiesinger, chairman of executive board of ThyssenKrupp AG, in Shanghai yesterday.
ThyssenKrupp is a German industrial conglomerate with 155,000 employees in nearly 80 countries. Hiesinger is a member of the International Business Leaders' Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.
Han said the council will discuss Shanghai’s effort to become a global innovation center at this year’s meeting and he thanked ThyssenKrupp and other member companies for making good preparations for the meeting.
Han said the service industry now contributes two thirds of the city’s GDP as a result of Shanghai’s effort to promote innovation-driven growth and industrial upgrade with advanced manufacturing as its top priority.
The Shanghai leader pledged full support to Chinese and foreign enterprises that have R&D facilities in the city and represent emerging industries. The municipal government will offer more incentives to attract talented people from everywhere to make innovations and start businesses in Shanghai.
Hiesinger said Shanghai is a role model for China in economic and social development. Its goal of becoming a global innovation center shows the city’s forward-thinking mindset.
He said ThyssenKrupp will use the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai as a platform to share experiences with all participants, discuss ideas, and strengthen cooperation with the city.
