Han Zheng meets VIP from Communist Party of Cuba

HAN Zheng, a Politburo member of the CPC Central Committee and Shanghai secretary, received José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, a member of the Central Committee Secretariat and head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba, on June 22.
Han said China and Cuba have long-term friendship and both are socialist countries under the leadership of their communist parties.
He said the Chinese Communist Party led by Xi Jinping is working hard to build China into a well-off society through continued reforms, rule of law, and self-improvement of the Party.
Shanghai has a lot of exchanges with Cuba and is the sister city of Santiago de Cuba Province. Han said he hopes Shanghai can make more contribution to the Sino-Cuban relationship.
Balaguer said he felt great to visit the city again. He noted that China is playing a bigger role in international affairs and is a major force to maintain global stability.
He said China is the second biggest trade partner of Cuba. His delegation was impressed by the country’s achievements on this trip. He hoped the two ruling parties can enhance exchange of experiences in running their countries.
Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, joined the meeting.
