Han Zheng meets visiting Czech president

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Czech President Miloš Zeman yesterday and welcomed his visit shortly after attending Beijing’s military parade on Thursday.
Han said Shanghai is an epitome of the whole country in reform and opening. The city is implementing the central government’s strategy to develop itself into an international center of economy, finance, trade and shipping.
He said the president’s visit will further strengthen bilateral relationship between the two countries and boost cooperation between Shanghai and Czech cities in trade, sports and culture.
Zeman said it was his first visit to Shanghai and he was impressed by the city. Czech and China have cooperated closely in fields of trade, culture, sports and aviation. He hoped his visit would promote cooperation in more fields and further strengthen bilateral ties.
Chinese Ambassador to Czech Republic Ma Keqing and Shanghai Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao joined the meeting.
