Han Zheng meets with Vietnamese ambassador

SHANGHAI Party Secretary Han Zheng met Dang Minh Khoi, Vietnamese ambassador to China, last week.
Han said the two countries have a long and traditional relationship. Last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Vietnamese Communist Party general secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited each other’s country to set a path for future cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that Shanghai and Ho Chi Minh City have cooperated well in economy, trade, science and technology, education and culture after they became sister cities 20 years ago.
Han said Shanghai is deepening reforms and pushing for more market opening. The city is confident of achieving stable economic growth and balanced development.
Dang said that top-level exchanges by the two countries’ leaders are good for bilateral cooperation in many areas. Viet Nam wants to develop its ties with China in a sustainable and healthy way.
He said Shanghai’s development is impressive. Both sides have huge potentials for cooperation in many fields. He welcomed Shanghai companies to invest in Viet Nam.
Yin Hong, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, was present at the meeting.
