Mayor meets former Pakistani president

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party and former president of Pakistan at the People’s Tower on August 29.
Yang welcomed the guests warmly and said that Shanghai has kept frequent exchanges and close cooperation with Karachi in economic and trade, culture, environment and planning since the two cities established a sister-city relation 30 years ago.
He said Shanghai is glad to share experiences in urban construction, planning and port construction with Pakistan and will actively participate in the construction of Sino-Pakistan economic corridor to contribute more to promote the friendly ties between China and Pakistan.
