Mayor meets with Tesla president of sales and service

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Tesla Motors President of Global Sales and Service John McNeill and his group last Thursday.
Yang said Tesla is a very innovative company. The Shanghai government is glad to see Tesla making new breakthroughs in different areas.
He said Shanghai is an open city and is becoming an international center of economy, finance, trade and shipping. The city has well-developed transport and logistics infrastructure and good financial services. He welcomed Tesla and other outstanding enterprises to invest in Shanghai.
The mayor said Shanghai has a big auto industry with supporting sectors. The city is promoting the development and sales of new energy cars with incentive policies and is supporting the construction of charging poles.
Shanghai is also aiming to become a global innovation center and hopes to attract more high-caliber professionals to work here. The municipal government wants to cooperate with innovative enterprises like Tesla.
McNeill said Tesla is carrying out high-tech projects in numerous areas, including electric cars. As Shanghai holds a key position in global auto industry, Tesla gives top priority to Shanghai and the China market as a whole for investment and cooperation.
