Mayor talks business with UTC president
娆㈣繋鍙備笌绉戝垱涓績寤鸿 鏉ㄩ泟浼氭櫎缇庡浗鑱斿悎鎶鏈叕鍙告昏
SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met United Technologies Corporation President and CEO Gregory J. Hayes on Wednesday and praised the UTC’s business development in the city.
Yang said Shanghai is focused on developing the free trade zone and becoming a global innovation center. The city wants to deepen cooperation with the UTC and other international and domestic companies.
The mayor said the Shanghai Free Trade Zone has stimulated the birth of a number of policies for market opening and industrial innovations. Shanghai’s drive to become a global innovation center requires concerted efforts from all. United Technologies Corporation can bank on its R&D strength to cooperate with Chinese partners.
Hayes said Shanghai is one of UTC’s most important markets in China. The company is keen to boost cooperation with Shanghai and seek new investment opportunities in fields such as the construction of intelligent buildings, Metro system, and aviation industry.
United Technologies Corporation is 151st in the ranking of Fortune 500 companies. The American conglomerate owns Otis Elevator, Carrier, and Sikorsky Aircraft. Its China headquarters, 16 subsidiaries and two R&D centers are located in Shanghai.
