Mayor talks with NEC president from Japan

SHANGHAI Mayor Yang Xiong met Nobuhiro Endo, president of NEC Corporation on July 3. He thanked the Japanese multinational company’s contribution to the development of semiconductor industry in Shanghai and spoke highly of the NEC’s innovation capabilities.
Yang said innovation is a driving force for economic and social development. Shanghai enacted 22 policies recently to accelerate its transformation into a global innovation center. He welcomed the NEC and other companies to participate in Shanghai’s drive.
The mayor said Shanghai also developed a smart city program, which represents a good opportunity for the NEC Corporation to increase cooperation with Shanghai enterprises in developing new technologies.
Nobuhiro Endo briefed the mayor on the company’s latest technologies and their applications. He pledged closer cooperation with Shanghai partners to make joint contributions to Shanghai.
NEC Corporation is the world’s leading company in IT services and products and ranks 405th among the Fortune 500 companies.
